Here's the main reason I closed Willie's Up North:

The cops were making more money than I was!!

I can't tell ya how many times I would hear from former customers about how they "just loved to come out to Willie's", but they "just don't want to be on the roads after dark"!  Drunk driving "hunts" by the cops around here was and STILL IS a money-making racket!  If the Mafia was doing it, it would be illegal.  Even when the Government told the States to either lower the alcohol breath levels or lose Federal Highway funding, it was obvious there is money to be made.  Isn't that f**king coercion; doesn't that sound like blackmail, a direct threat - gun to your head?  Of course it is!!!  Call it what you want, its blackmail and its illegal any way you look at it!  What's up with that?  The poor counties of Charlevoix and Emmet in Northern Michigan have to hire another judge to handle the case loads, and the coffers are over full of monies from the fines and such from the drunk driving arrests!  Aww shucks!  What a shame, they need another judge!  Isn't that evidence enough?  It always starts with the cop usually following real close and then pulls you over to say your tail light is out, or your license plate light is out, and "Oh, by the way, have you been drinking?"  Yah, f**k you!  I got pulled over for doing 35 in a 35 zone!  Figure that one out!  He said the speed limit didn't increase until after Don's IGA, and he was full of shit!  It starts right after the last curve coming out of town, going north!  The little bastard pulled me over in my driveway too, with his pretty lights just a flashing, freaking my kids out completely!!  Then after doing his calisthenics and blowing his little toy, he left and never even gave me a ticket for "speeding"!  The prick thought he had a drunk driver and was pissed he couldn't get me!!!  F**k him.  I think they got rid of him anyways.  Last I saw of him, he was walking a beat downtown Charlevoix! (Update: I don't think he is even employed here anymore!)  So how did you like the parade, Mrs. Kennedy???
